ISMA will present recorded remarks at September’s annual convention from two special guests: Indiana Gov. Eric Holcomb and AMA President Jesse M. Ehrenfeld, MD. The governor’s welcome will be played on Sept. 9 and the AMA president’s remarks will be shared on Sept. 10.



Gov. Eric Holcomb is Indiana’s 51st governor and is serving his second term. A lifelong Hoosier, Gov. Holcomb is a U.S. Navy veteran who served as an advisor to Gov. Mitch Daniels and Sen. Dan Coats. He was appointed Indiana’s lieutenant governor in 2016 by Gov. Mike Pence, and elected to his first term as governor eight months later.



Dr. Jesse Ehrenfeld was elected AMA president in June 2023. He is a senior associate dean, tenured professor of anesthesiology and director of the “Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment” at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He was elected to the American Medical Association Board of Trustees in 2014.
