Free. Registration required.

NOTE: This monthly discussion forum is only for female ISMA physicians and medical student members. These sessions will not be recorded for future viewing.

In the medical profession, women physicians are often automatically assigned a position of inferior status compared to their male colleagues. Women physicians also face challenges to their status from female nurses on the job. “Status-leveling burden” is considered a set of behaviors all female physicians must perfect to level up their status regarding these two groups in practice. In this session, as part of the Women in Medicine (WIM) Virtual Discussion Forum, Jane Bridges, MD, will discuss these challenges and mitigation strategies that can assist women physicians.
