Register now for ISMA’s Physician Wellness Symposium

Join ISMA on Friday, Sept. 25, for the third annual Physician Wellness Symposium — a day devoted entirely to supporting physician well-being.

Get started early with “Walk with a Doc,” and breakfast, and enjoy fellowship with physicians around the state.

This year’s keynote speaker is Adam Hill, MD, a physician in long-term addiction recovery. Dr. Hill was division chief of pediatric palliative medicine at Riley Hospital for Children from 2017-2022, before being named the Inaugural Section Head and Endowed Chair of Pediatric Palliative Medicine at Children’s Hospital of Colorado in Sept. of 2022. Alongside his roles in palliative medicine, Dr. Hill serves as a certified executive coach and the Associate Director of Wellness at Children’s Hospital Colorado. Registrants will also get a copy of his book, “Long Walk Out of the Woods.”

Special guests therapy dogs from Paws and Think will be on site to bring joy and stress relief. Guests can also enjoy a chair massage courtesy of the ISMA Insurance Agency.

Jason Marker, MD, who is instrumental in several physician leadership initiatives, including the AAFP's Leading Physician Wellbeing program, will speak during the first plenary session.

Kyra Reed, MD, of the Indiana University School of Medicine, who is education researcher with a scholarly focus on resident well-being, learning environment optimization, and interprofessional communication in the clinical learning environment, will speak during the secondary plenary session.

In addition, President of Indiana Hospital Association (IHA) Scott Tittle, JD, and Board Chair Jim Callaghan, MD, will discuss building a thriving physician workforce in the face of a changing health care landscape.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet ISMA’s new Executive Vice President Clif Knight, MD, who will be moderating the event. The fourth plenary will be a panel discussion, "What Will it Take to Move the Needle in Indiana?" This session focuses on identifying actionable improvements within Indiana’s healthcare system to better support physician well-being.
