Registration open for next ISMA Advocacy Bootcamp

ISMA members can now reserve their spot for the next cohort of Advocacy Bootcamp!

Advocacy Bootcamp is an opportunity for health care leaders ready to take the next step in physician advocacy AND those who have been in the field for a while but feel they could use some extra polish.

This hybrid program aims to support and develop active, effective health policy advocates from among ISMA’s most engaged members. A total of 45 ISMA members have already graduated from Advocacy Bootcamp, and a third cohort of 14 participants will complete their training on May 17.

The 2024-2025 program will run from October through April and will consist of Zoom and in-person sessions led by ISMA’s Government Relations team and other subject-matter experts. There will be five one-hour Zoom sessions (October, November, December, January, March) and two in-person sessions (February, April).

Some of the topics that will be covered include how policy is made in Indiana, the anatomy of the federal and state legislatures, how to track bills, how to navigate the Indiana General Assembly website, the framework of policy analysis, aspects of strategy when lobbying, self-awareness and self-management when meeting with legislators, and how to prepare for meetings with policymakers.

Advocacy Bootcamp is open to all ISMA members – with any level of experience – and 20 registrants will be accepted. This program is accredited for up to 9.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ and costs $450.

The deadline for registration is Oct. 7, 2024. See the full schedule at www.ismanet.org/AdvocacyBootcampFlyer and register at www.ismanet.org/AdvocacyBootcamp
