Members of the ISMA Board of Trustees and ISMA staff met Saturday, March 5, for a strategic planning retreat. 

The board learned the results of the recent physician insights survey, which included feedback from more than 500 member and nonmember physicians, residents and medical students. Survey questions covered health care industry trends impacting physicians and ways to make Indiana the best state in which to practice medicine as well as the best state for patient care. 

Breakout discussion groups during the retreat focused on the health care workforce, the business of medicine, and patient care and public health. Board members’ input will be used to develop an updated strategic plan for review at the May board meeting.
