Med students: Apply now for paid ISMA health policy summer fellowship
Are you a rising second-year medical student interested in learning how medicine and law interact? Would you like to help influence how physicians and patients are represented in government? If so, the ISMA Health Policy Summer Fellowship is for you!

ISMA is seeking two medical students (one each from the IU School of Medicine and the Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine) to help with a variety of physician advocacy projects during the summer between their first and second years of study. Fellows will assist ISMA’s vice president of Government Affairs in developing talking points for upcoming legislative sessions, reviewing new laws, researching health care policy, and other ISMA projects. This is a great opportunity for any medical student, but especially for those who plan to be involved with health care administration and want to help shape health care's impact on the public.

The fellowship is a part-time, paid position, with flexible hours based on each student’s schedule. Fellows are expected to work weekdays over approximately eight weeks at the ISMA office in Indianapolis.

In addition to offering valuable experience in physician advocacy, the Health Policy Summer Fellowship will be an excellent talking point when you interview for residency positions.

The deadline to apply is March 15, and final selections will be announced April 1. Learn more and apply >>
