Registration for the ISMA Women in Medicine (WIM) Retreat and the Virtual Discussion Forum Series is open! 

On Feb. 24, ISMA will once again offer the retreat at the internationally acclaimed Bottleworks Hotel in downtown Indianapolis. This art-deco boutique hotel, recently named Yelp’s top place to stay nationally for 2023, is located in what was once part of the largest Coca-Cola bottling plant in the world. The hotel has an onsite spa, The Woodhouse Day Spa, and is surrounded by the Bottleworks District for your enjoyment throughout the weekend.

This event is open to all female physicians and medical students in Indiana. Some details are still being finalized, including presenters, but the workshop topic will be “Contracts, Noncompetes, MedMal, Oh My: Medicolegal 101.”

ISMA is pleased to announce that Stacia Dearmin, MD, and Wendy Ledesma, MD, will both give presentations during the retreat. Both physicians will discuss dealing with trauma related to patient outcomes and medical malpractice lawsuits during their presentations. Registration is $200 for physician members, $300 for nonmember physicians, and $100 for medical students and residents. The fee covers Saturday breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as the CME workshop and a reception. On Friday, a small, informal group dinner will be held. Please book your hotel room separately. A block of rooms has been reserved for Friday, Feb. 23, and Saturday, Feb. 24. Please identify yourself as attending the Indiana State Medical Association’s weekend retreat to receive the special room rate of $239 per night (plus tax). The rooms will be released to the public after Jan. 24.
