‘Physician of the Day’ volunteers needed at Statehouse in February
ISMA’s advocacy at the Statehouse each legislative session is key to preserving physician-led health care, keeping malpractice rates low and ensuring that Indiana remains a favorable place to practice medicine. ISMA Resident-Fellow Society members, retired members and other members are invited to assist our Government Relations team by spending a day at the Statehouse as Physician of the Day.

ISMA members are needed to volunteer in the Physician of the Day office Mondays through Thursdays in February while the Indiana General Assembly meets. In addition to being available to treat minor ailments of legislators and their staffs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., you must be comfortable performing CPR. You’ll be introduced before the House and Senate and can observe the legislative process in action, and you may have opportunities to discuss important issues with state senators and representatives.

If you would like to volunteer to serve as Physician of the Day, select an available date from the calendar, then enter your information and click Book. You will receive a confirmation via email. For more information about this program, please email Luke McNamee or call him at 317-261-2060, or 800-257-4762.
