Janette Helm joins ISMA as Director of Education
ISMA is pleased to welcome Director of Education Janette Helm, MA, RN, an experienced organizational development consultant, to the staff.

Some members may already know Helm through the ISMA Physician Leadership Program (PLP). An adjunct executive education faculty member for the IU O’Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs’ Healthcare Innovation Leadership Institute, she teaches the PLP course “Building Resilience to Lead Change.”

“I look forward to building on the strategy and mission of ISMA to develop innovative and timely education programs,” Helm said. “I am especially excited about the strategic focus to help physicians thrive both personally and professionally.”

Previously, Helm served 10 years as system director of mission integration for St. Vincent Health in Indianapolis. She was also director of clinical practice and organizational learning for St. Vincent Carmel Hospital and director of education and organizational development for Howard Regional Health System in Kokomo. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree in community health education and is a registered nurse.

Helm is a master certified health education specialist (MCHES) and is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives. She is past president of the Health Care Education Association and recently received its distinguished service award. Helm also values her experience of serving on boards for nonprofit organizations.  

She and her husband celebrated their 26th anniversary last year. They enjoy attending local theater, music and sporting events.
