ISMA has signed a Federation letter in support of H.R. 8163, the “Provider Reimbursement Stability Act.” The letter highlights the ongoing instability within the Medicare Physician Fee Schedule and supports several important reforms to modernize budget neutrality policies, improve the accuracy of practice expense updates, and provide greater predictability in Medicare physician payment.

The legislation would help address longstanding structural issues that continue to undermine physician practices and threaten patient access to care, particularly as Medicare physician payment has failed to keep pace with inflation and practice cost growth.
