ISMA presented the ISMA Future Physician Leader Award at the Marian University Tom and Julie Wood College of Osteopathic Medicine to Meghann Roessler. She will begin her family medicine residency at the Community East Family Medicine Residency program.
The Future Physician Leader Award was established in 2017 to recognize a graduate who has demonstrated a positive vision for organized medicine and enthusiastically contributes to that vision. This person is dedicated to maximizing the leadership and impact of physicians in their personal, professional and community lives. Other qualities of a future physician leader include compassion, respect and a focus on collaboration through advocacy, education and mentoring.
Among other accomplishments, this year’s Future Physician Leader was the president of the 2026 ISMA Medical Student Society, where she participated in national and local opportunities for Indiana physicians. She was also the VP of operations and membership for MU-WCOM. This student also represented medical students at Women in Medicine and Physician Advocacy Day and in the ISMA House of Delegates, as an alternate delegate.
