AMA Campaign School teaches strategy, skills needed to win
Are you interested in holding public office but aren’t sure how to optimize your chances of winning? Do you want to increase physician representation in your state or national delegation to give physicians more of a say in creating laws and policy?

If so, the American Medical Political Action Committee (AMPAC) Campaign School, Sept. 26-29 in Washington, DC, is for you. The annual event teaches AMA members and spouses, physicians-in-training and medical society staff the skills and strategies needed to run an effective campaign or be an effective volunteer.

During Campaign School, at AMA headquarters, AMA political experts break participants into campaign staff teams to run a simulated congressional campaign. The simulation builds on pre-event workbook activities and videos, along with group sessions on strategy, vote targeting, social media, advertising and more.

AMPAC covers the cost of all materials, educational activities and meals. Participants are responsible for the registration fee ($350 for AMA members and $1,000 for nonmembers), airfare and discounted accommodations at the Hyatt Regency Washington on Capitol Hill.

To learn more or to apply, visit www.ampaconline.org/apply, or email AMPAC at politicaleducation@ama-assn.org.

Attention residents and students:
The registration fee is waived for residents and students; however, space is limited to four slots, and the AMPAC Board will review and select qualified participants from the pool of resident and student applicants.
