Albin retires, Kluger promoted in interim
Dave Albin, ISMA Vice President, Membership & Marketing, has announced he is retiring after nearly 8 years with ISMA and a long career in healthcare marketing. Albin expanded and improved member outreach and engagement, and increased utilization of member feedback tools like member surveys while building the ISMA brand through digital communications and service to members. During his tenure total membership increased by nearly 15% to over 10,000 members by the end of 2025.

He directed all the convention communications, ensuring consistency across printed materials, website and mobile app, and supported the speaker and vice speaker as they ran the House of Delegates. He also worked directly with the ISMA president elect and the various district presidents, as well as the planning and execution of the district meetings each year. Albin partnered the ISMA government relations team on legislative matters, events and outreach. Early on during the pandemic, Albin launched ISMA’s COVID-19 resource page the day before the first case was announced in Indiana; this page became an important resource for physicians statewide.

“Dave helped standardize our interactions with county medical society execs and created a more formal role and structure for the district presidents, which now meet regularly and are helping become our leadership pipeline and helping strengthen our presence around the state,” Julie Reed, EVP said. “While we will miss Dave’s jokes, quick wit and his lead foot, what we will really miss is his consummate professionalism with our members, his careful attention to detail in our work product, his willingness to pitch in, his situational instincts, and his commitment to successful member events.”

Katie Kluger has been promoted to Interim Director of Membership. Kluger will oversee the continuity of membership operations and strategy through the transition to the next Executive Vice President. She will continue to work on membership retention campaigns and member recruitment.  She will continue to oversee MSS, RFS and YPS.  She will also now help the president-elect facilitate the district presidents’ group and run point on district meetings for this season.
