Contact your legislator regarding HIP 2.0 reimbursement rates
Senate Republicans will unveil their version of a new two-year state budget this week. Among other items, the budget will include a proposed new reimbursement rate for services provided under the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP 2.0). Those services have been reimbursed at Medicare rates since HIP was created in 2008, but the federal government has ordered Indiana to set a uniform reimbursement rate for all Medicaid services, whether furnished outside of HIP or within it.

Watch your inbox Wednesday morning for a link to an email template for you to contact your legislators to urge them to set the new reimbursement rate as close to the Medicare rate as possible. ISMA encourages you to use the sample email as a starting point and add your own personal story of how your practice has been and will be affected. Also, there is no requirement to wait for the Call to Action email; you can always call or email your legislators at any time to let them know your views.
