To date, the ISMA Board of Trustees has completed its work on three of the seven resolutions referred to the Board for Action or Study by the 2023 House of Delegates.

The 2023 House of Delegates approved a resolution changing district president terms from one to two years, with a phase-in over a two-year period. The Board approved the following phase-in schedule: In 2024, the following district presidents will be elected to two-year terms: Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 8. The rest of the district presidents (Districts 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, and 13) will be elected for one-year terms in 2024, and two-year terms starting in 2025.

As announced in September 2023, ISMA will no longer print the annual convention handbook. Instead, all handbook materials will be provided in electronic form. This change will speed up the availability of materials, reduce paper waste, and eliminate escalating printing costs. Delegates who prefer a printed handbook will be provided with an option to purchase one in advance of the convention through a third-party vendor. Reference committee reports will still be printed during the convention weekend.
