ISMA members made 2022 legislative session a success
Thank you for all you’ve done to advocate for your patients and the practice of medicine during the 2022 legislative session. Successful advocacy requires the strength of our members speaking with one voice. By serving on the Commission on Legislation, authoring resolutions that helped guide our policy efforts, testifying at the Statehouse or engaging with lawmakers, you made sure the united voice of organized medicine was heard loud and clear.

Special thanks go to Commission on Legislation Chair Stephen Tharp, MD, and commission members, who contributed their guidance and perspective, and to ISMA President Elizabeth Struble, MD, who spent many hours interacting with legislators and Government Relations staff.

Hearing from physicians personally makes a powerful impact. Besides Dr. Struble and Dr. Tharp, ISMA members who sacrificed their time to testify include Carrie Davis, MD; Richard Feldman, MD; and Mercy Hylton, MD

Finally, we thank the thousands of physicians and medical students who contacted legislators about critical issues that impact health care in Indiana. More than 4,500 messages were sent this session. By answering our calls to action, you embodied ISMA’s guiding principle that, “together, physicians can effect positive change better than they can individually.”
