IDOH discusses Indiana measle cases
Indiana is experiencing an increase of measles cases. As of this week, nearly 30 cases have been confirmed in 6 counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, LaGrange, Ohio, Parke, Randolph, Switzerland, and Wayne counties. Additional cases are likely, and measles may be circulating in the community beyond confirmed cases. The Indiana Department of Health is keeping track of 2026 Measles Cases by County of Residence.

Clinicians should consider measles in any patient with compatible symptoms, including high fever, cough, rash, conjunctivitis, or rhinorrhea, regardless of travel history or known exposure. Use PPE for measles and airborne precautions, including wearing an N95 respirator.
