New resources available to answer vaccine safety questions
A survey by the Kaiser Family Foundation recently found that 29% of health care workers and 27% of the general population were “vaccine hesitant.” At the same time, surveys consistently show that Americans trust their physicians as reliable sources of medical information – meaning ISMA members are in a unique position to reassure staff members and patients that it’s safe to be vaccinated. To help physicians answer questions from staff and patients, the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) and ISMA have added new resources on vaccine safety.

An excellent new fact sheet from IDOH, Covid-19 Vaccine FAQs, explains why the COVID-19 vaccines are safe even though they were produced quickly. It also lists the normal side-effects of being vaccinated and addresses common myths and misinformation about the vaccines.

ISMA has also added new material on vaccine safety to its coronavirus resources page under “Vaccine Resources.” Sources include the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH), the AMA and the CDC. New resources will be added as they become available or shared on the same page under “Daily Updates.”
