The AMA sent a letter to U.S. House of Representative leaders today in support of H.R. 6800, the “Health and Economic Recovery Omnibus Emergency Solutions Act” (HEROES Act). The legislation, which was scheduled for a vote later today, faces an uncertain future in the Senate.
Among other goals, the $3 trillion relief package would allocate additional funds for Health Care Provider Relief Fund to reimburse physicians’ and other providers’ COVID-19-related expenses and lost revenues. It also contains improvements to the Medicare Accelerated and Advance Payment Program and provides more federal student loan relief, among other provisions.
