Program description:

This program features Jane M. Bridges, MD, an ISMA member physician and Vincennes diabetologist, who will share her personal experiences with burnout and other forms of “unwellness” facing physicians.  Dr. Bridges will speak about practical ways physicians can take control of their wellness, even while working in a health care system that may not have sufficient resources to address physician unwellness. She will share her own experiences with burnout to assist other physicians who may be trying to find their way through the challenges of dealing effectively with their particular stressors.  Dr. Bridges chairs the Practitioner Health and Wellness Committee at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and represents District 2 on the ISMA Commission on Physician Assistance.

Objectives:

At the end of this webinar, attendees will be able to:

  1. Define physician unwellness as a continuum
  2. Describe consequences of unwellness
  3. Identify resources for assistance to manage warning signals of stress and burnout
