In response to the COVID-19 public health emergency, the Indiana State Medical Association created a new program to supply individual medical offices with the personal protective equipment (PPE) needed to safely treat patients and protect their staff. Physician practices of all sizes can purchase selected items at discounted rates that are comparable to bulk pricing.

ISMA has worked with Indiana Face MaskTM, a family-owned business in Rensselaer, Ind., to make NIOSH-approved, American-made N95 respirators available to members at a 10% discount. Physician practices of all sizes can purchase these respirators in quantities of 25 to 10,500 by entering ISMA’s unique discount code.

Cardinal Spirits (Monroe County), is a craft distillery in Bloomington that distributes spirits to more than 200 retail locations in Indiana. The company has paused beverage operations, leveraging its distillery to produce hand sanitizer in 1-gallon jugs.

Isolation gowns and masks
Jordan Manufacturing Company Inc. (Newton & White Counties), a Monticello-based family owned and operated business, produces outdoor patio textiles and indoor cushions. The company has shifted production at its facilities in Monticello and Kentland to make isolation gowns.

With assistance from Governor Holcomb and the IEDC, in an effort to assist the State of Indiana and its residents during the COVID-19 pandemic Jordan Manufacturing, provider of replacement patio cushions for over 45 years, joined in the production of medical PPE by making isolation gowns and masks. To better equip the State of Indiana, residents, physicians, first responders and everyone on the front lines for potential future pandemics we have decided to purchase machinery to mass produce surgical masks to make a more cost effective, domestic long-term solution. This will significantly reduce our reliance upon foreign manufacturers. We feel this will greatly benefit turnaround time and safety for all Hoosiers. As a part of the Indiana permanent solution we will continue looking for ways to offer additional PPE in the future.
