Hotel reservations now open
Hotel reservations for convention are now open, with the special rate of $159 for a basic single or double room available from Thursday, Sept. 27, through Saturday, Sept. 29. (Convention is Sept. 29-30, with Dr. Dike Drummond’s physician wellness workshop on Sept. 28) When you click on the reservation link www.ismanet.org/2018hotel, the ISMA discount will be applied automatically. Award nominations close June 18
Nominations for two annual ISMA awards close June 18. The Dr. Kathleen Galbraith Legacy Leadership Award honors a physician who shares the passion of the late Kathleen Galbraith, MD, for increasing awareness of domestic violence in Indiana. The Patient Health Advocate Award honors a non-physician who has made significant contributions to the health and well-being of Hoosier patients. To learn more, visit www.ismanet.org/awards.

Resolution submission deadline is July 30
ISMA resolutions, introduced each year during convention at the House of Delegates, help drive ISMA’s public policy and legislative agenda at the Indiana Statehouse. Only ISMA members may submit resolutions, and all resolutions must be submitted before Monday, July 30, 2018. Examples of resolutions and issues addressed during the 2017 House of Delegates may be found at www.ismanet.org/2017Resolutions. It’s also a good idea to check the ISMA Public Policy Manual online for existing policies on topics a new resolution might reference. In addition, 23 ISMA resolutions will expire unless they are submitted for reintroduction by July 30; a complete list is at www.ismanet.org/pdf/convention/SunsetResolutions.pdf. More physicians file candidacy forms
Since the last issue of ISMA Reports, two physicians have filed candidacy forms for ISMA offices. Speaker of the House Roberto Darroca, MD, of Muncie, has filed for re-election, as has Assistant Treasurer Pardeep Kumar, MD, of Terre Haute.
