There’s some great news for Indiana
physicians covered by group health
insurance through the Medical
Practice Consortium: The consortium’s
Board of Trustees has chosen the ISMA
Insurance Agency (ISMAIA) from
a competitive field to serve as its
arrangement manager.
The decision means that consortium
members will receive the same
expert customer service from ISMAIA
employees that practices covered by
ISMA’s Anthem group health insurance
plan enjoyed.
“The ISMAIA views the relationship
with the consortium as central to its
core mission of supporting physicians
and practices and is honored to
have been selected for this role by
the consortium trustees,” said ISMA
Director of Insurance Tom Martens.
The Medical Practice Consortium was
formed late last year in response
to new federal rules concerning
association health plans. Currently,
it offers Anthem group health
insurance to more than 80 Indiana
medical practices. As arrangement
manager, the ISMAIA will provide
personalized assistance to all
participating employers, including
policy management, education and
administration of premiums.
The ISMA individual health insurance
plan (including Medicare Carveouts)
offered through Anthem was
not affected by the new rules and
continues to be governed and serviced
by ISMA.
