The launch of Indiana’s new EVERS death registration system has been postponed indefinitely, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) said.
EVERS, which centralizes Indiana’s electronic vital records reporting, will be used by every coroner, physician certifier, funeral home and local health department that plays a part in reporting deaths to ISDH.
Training webinars for facilities and medical certifiers are planned, in addition to in-person sessions for other users. ISDH says attending training is important to be able to access the system when it goes live.
This first phase includes complete implementation of the death module, inventory management system and accounting system. The second phase will include complete implementation of the birth module by January 2020, followed by the putative father registry and adoption matching registry. The final phase, targeted for mid-2021, will implement the fetal death module, terminated pregnancy module and health information exchange.
ISMA will keep members updated on any new information about the launch and training sessions. To learn more, visit
