Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP)

Chronic Disease Manager Katie Holeman-Shipp, Office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP), informed attendees the state will likely choose multiple vendors to offer care management services in the Indiana Care Select program. Implementation date for this program has been extended to Oct. 1, 2007, to give vendors ample preparation time. Announcement of a vendor was expected May 18.

Participants expressed concern about the decision to potentially award multiple vendors, due to the auto-assignment issues experienced during the Hoosier Healthwise transition. Physicians enrolled as current Medicaid Select PCCM (Primary Care Case Management) physicians will receive an addendum to continue participation with the new program.

Although physicians will con-tinue billing EDS for reimbursement of these services, physicians will work with the new vendor for coordination of care. The per-member-per-month (PMPM) fee paid by the state to PCCM physicians will increase from $4 to $15.

The PCCM physician also will have an opportunity to be reimbursed for a twice annual coordination call at $40 per call. Please continue to watch EDS Banner Pages and Bulletins for additional information on the Indiana Care Select program.

Coalition attendees discussed resolving outstanding claims with Harmony, Molina and CareSource. Tammy Chadd, OMPP policy analyst, advised physicians to contact her if they have outstanding claims with Harmony or CareSource.

Contact Deb Fox, OMPP policy analyst, if you have outstanding claims with Molina. Both analysts can be reached at (317) 233-4455.
