Are you making your voice heard?
Let the ISMA help.
Here’s how to make Medicine Day work for you and your patients:
- Contact your legislators to let them know you’ll be attending Medicine Day.*
- Pre-schedule a private meeting time with your local legislators on Jan. 20.
- Come to the legislative briefing at breakfast on Medicine Day; listen for key talking points on hot topics.
- Participate, as appropriate, in committee hearings on Medicine Day.
- Attend the noon luncheon with legislators; pick up your Medicine Day gift.
Don’t forget to wear your white coat.
Focus Areas of Medicine Day
The ISMA has three focus areas for the 2010 General Assembly, and three reasons for you to attend Medicine Day:
- Assignment of benefits
- Open access
- Restriction on insurance complaints
The ISMA is challenging insurance contracting by supporting “open access” legislation and once again pushing for the recognition of patients’ rights to choose to assign their benefits. The ISMA also is working to remove monetary restrictions on complaint filings with the Indiana Department of Insurance.
Lend your support by attending Medicine Day. Lend your voice to the purpose. Have a conversation with your legislators about how these issues affect the everyday practice of medicine – and ultimately patients in every voting district.
