Overview of the Indiana Medicaid 2007
New Program Design for Hoosier Healthwise

Participating providers are listed below. See a contract comparison between the three MCOs>>

The office of Medicaid Policy and Planning (OMPP) will implement new elements into the Hoosier Healthwise program beginning Jan. 1, 2007. The new program is intended to improve health care delivery and outcomes by changing the way health care is delivered to the Hoosier Healthwise population. In order for the program to be successful, the system needs to accomplish the following:

  • Provide a comprehensive and complete "medical home" for each Hoosier Healthwise member.
  • Encourage provider ownership of healthcare delivery.
  • Reward quality care and improved outcomes.
  • Promote personal accountability.
  • Leverage community- and school-based health services and technology advances.
  • Develop an infrastructure that can support an increasing indigent population in the future.

The changes in the Hoosier Healthwise 2007 program do not apply to members enrolled in Medicaid Select or traditional membership.
