Tired of waiting for PAs from Medicaid?

If you’re about fed up with the hassle and time you spend obtaining prior authorizations (PAs) for Medicaid prescriptions and procedures, the ISMA wants to hear from you.

On July 1, the ISMA hosted another meeting with Indiana specialty society presidents that included a session with representatives from Managed Health Services (MHS). The insurer is one of the state’s three Medicaid managed care organizations.

MHS asked the ISMA to formulate a “wish list” of Medicaid procedures and prescriptions that should not require a prior authorization. That means we need input from you to help create that list.

The goal is standardized PA requirements for all MCOs – and no more remembering the details of three different plans.

To provide your opinions, please visit the ISMA Web site here to complete a short survey. Or, call the ISMA at (317) 261-2060 or (800) 261-2076 to request that a survey be faxed to you.
