Proposed plan comparisons offer insight on reform efforts

The Commonwealth Fund has a new report on its Web site that allows you to compare three proposed plans for health care reform. “Fork in the Road: Choosing a Path to a High Performance U.S. Health System” can be accessed here.

The three plans discussed, two public plans and one private, offer differing reimbursement rates and varied savings projected over the next decade. Medicare payment reforms are part of each plan, as well as pay to reward value and efficiency, not volume.

Also, the The Washington Post has a handy graph, “Health-Care Reform: What It Means for You,” that helps consumers understand how reform plans may impact individuals, according to what type of insurance they currently have – or don’t have.

Find the chart here.
