New minimum wage taking effect; poster replacement required
Medical offices should be aware that Indiana’s minimum wage will increase July 24, in conjunction with the federal minimum wage. Offices are required to pay employees in compliance with the law, and display both federal and state posters in their offices.
The new employment posters can be obtained free of charge through the Indiana Department of Labor Web site and the U.S Department of Labor Web site.
Both federal and state minimum wages, which are the same, will follow this schedule of increases:
- $5.85 per hour ............ July 24, 2007
- $6.55 per hour ............ July 24, 2008
- $7.25 per hour ............ July 24, 2009
