Fort Wayne’s Betty Canavati begins term as Alliance president

Betty CanavatiAfter serving for three years as president of the Fort Wayne Medical Society Alliance, Minnesota-born Betty Canavati, M.S., took the oath during convention to become president of the ISMA Alliance. She served on her county board for 12 years and has been the co-chair of Membership for the ISMA Alliance.

Canavati assisted in fundraising for Matthew 25, a local health clinic, and Super Shot, which provides free immunizations for area children. As co-chair of fundraising events for the IU School of Medicine in Fort Wayne, she helped raise more than $330,000.

Canavati is the 2012 recipient of the Betty Wolverton Service Award, the highest honor for distinguished service to fellow Alliance members. She is the spouse of Isa Canavati, M.D., a neurosurgeon.
