As young patients come for their immunizations, don’t forget to introduce them to MyVaxIndiana.

The online tool helps parents manage their children’s health by providing direct access to vaccination records through a web application within the Children and Hoosier’s Immunization Registry Program (CHIRP). From any computer, parents can view vaccine history and recommended immunizations. Information may be downloaded, printed or faxed.

According to the Indiana State Department of Health, the two-year-old program has already reached a milestone, logging more than 50,000 accessed records.

All you need to do is provide parents with a personal identification number (PIN), granting specific access to the record they requested. They can use the PIN to access information from any computer. Records appear as they are maintained in CHIRP.
