Like you, patients say they want ease of claims and lack of hassles when dealing with health insurance companies, according to a study and report from Insure.com.

The study surveyed more than 4,500 insurance customers about satisfaction with claims processing, service and value. They also were asked if they would recommend their insurer to friends and if they would renew their policies.

Indianapolis-based Anthem ranked 12, with a satisfaction rate of 78.3 percent. Humana received a score of 81.9 percent and UnitedHealthcare followed with 79.2 percent. However, while Cigna’s 76 percent rating was lower, more patients said they would renew their policies with the company.

The private survey was conducted between February and August 2011. Top companies by market share were included, but not all large companies were represented in the research.
