Among the benefits of your ISMA membership, add one more - exisiting value. New data show ISMA membership dues ranked fourth lowest compared to all 50 states and the District of Columbia.

“Without a doubt, ISMA membership pays for itself,” commented ISMA President Brent Mohr, M.D. “The association works hard to provide products and services that can help us save time and money in our practices. Nearly 74 percent of every dues dollar goes directly into member services.”

Dr. Mohr noted the ISMA has not increased dues since 1992.

State dues

More than 8,200 physicians are ISMA members. Here are just a few ways your membership directly impacts your bottom dollar:

  • Medical malpractice – The ISMA is the only organization that stands up for physicians in protecting the state’s malpractice act, regularly filing amicus briefs in legal cases on your behalf.
  • Patient’s Compensation Fund (PCF) – The ISMA has defended the PCF to keep rates down. In fact, the PCF surcharge has dropped 37.3 percent in the last four years.
  • Coding Hotline – A call to an ISMA coding specialist can help you quickly solve a claims issue or find the right code for the right payment. A conversation about just one claim can recoup your dues dollars.
  • Insurance – The ISMA offers medical insurance plans with flexible benefits designed for you, your family and staff, including life and disability.
