The balance in the Patient’s Compensation Fund (PCF) remains strong – good news for the Indiana medical community.

The Jan. 15 payout was $61,065,989, about what it was in July. By law, the Indiana Department of Insurance makes payouts from the fund twice yearly, in mid-January and mid-July.

After paying 79 cases, the post-payout balance is $194,513,768. Three cases were paid at the $650,000 cap and 19 cases were paid at the $1 million cap.
