Brent Mohr, M.D.

Brent W Mohr, M.D., a rheumatologist from South Bend, was sworn in as ISMA president during convention activities. For the past two years, he has chaired the ISMA’s Board of Trustees, comprised of elected members and alternates from the 13 Indiana districts.

In his address to the House of Delegates, Dr. Mohr urged physicians to use their powers as citizens. “We have a potentially historic midterm election coming up this fall,” he said. “I urge all of you to make sure you use your voting status and remind Congress that they work for us, not the other way around.”

Dr. Mohr becomes the first rheumatologist to serve as ISMA president. He was also president of the St. Joseph County Medical Society and the 13th District Medical Society. A fellow with the American College of Rheumatology, he is certified in internal medicine and holds a medical license in both Indiana and Michigan.

Currently, he serves on the Board of Trustees of the Sound Bend Clinic and is on the staff of St. Joseph Medical Center and Memorial Hospital in South Bend.

A graduate of the University of Evansville, Dr. Mohr earned his medical degree from IU School of Medicine in 1987. He did internship and residency training at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Ann Arbor, Mich., and a fellowship in rheumatology at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
