Dr. Vidic testifying
Tom Vidic, M.D., ISMA Speaker of the House, testified at the Statehouse Sept. 8.

He addressed an interim legislative council tasked with studying whether pharmacists should be required to notify a prescribing physician of a change in the brand name manufacturer of a prescribed medicine to treat a long-term health condition.

Dr. Vidic advised legislators of the importance of adherence to physician instructions regarding prescribed drugs. He told them how increasingly his patients have difficulty understanding what medications they take and become frustrated when their doctors are not informed about generic substitutions.
