If you provided out-of-network services to UnitedHealth Group patients between Jan. 1, 2002, to May 28, 2010, you have until Oct. 5 to claim damages from a $350 million settlement fund.
The AMA sued the health insurer for using skewed data, which resulted in artificially low payments to physicians for out-of-network services.
Now, the AMA has created an online resource to help you file a claim against UnitedHealth.
“The AMA is offering its support to physicians who are now receiving mailings containing details and claim forms regarding the historic UnitedHealth settlement,” said AMA Past President J. James Rohack, M.D. “The new AMA guide provides physicians with step-by-step assistance in determining eligibility, assembling documentation and filing a claim under the terms of the settlement.”
The guide is part of a collection of resources to help you file your claim, including an educational webinar and a comprehensive FAQ list.
Find these resources on the AMA website.
