The Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) has notified the ISMA that our organization will receive the 2015 Rutledge W. Howard MD Award for Outstanding Collaboration between accreditors and providers. The award honors an ACCME® Recognized Accreditor for achieving an exemplary working relationship with its providers by collaborating on projects, issues or initiatives.

“ISMA demonstrated leadership and initiative by creating ShapeUpCME, an innovative outreach project that identifies challenges faced by ISMA-accredited CME providers and works collaboratively with them to develop solutions,” said Graham McMahon, MD, MMSc, president and CEO, ACCME®.

The award will be presented during the ACCME® State/Territory Medical Society Conference

Dec. 9-10 in Chicago. More details will be provided following presentation of the award. However, ISMA leaders and staff are proud of this achievement and extend congratulations to our CME accrediting volunteers, providers and Shelly Symmes, ISMA’s CME administrator, Karla Zody, MD, ISMA Commission chair, and James (Jeb) Buchanan, MD, vice chair.
