Succeeding as a medical office in 2015 demands taking advantage of every opportunity to learn from others. That’s exactly what attendees at the ISMA Commercial Payer Forum did on June 5. Physician practice managers and staff learned not only from the presenters during the formal part of the ISMA’s annual Commercial Payer Forum, but they also learned from each other.

“Everything is changing all the time,” said Sharon Miles, practice manager with the office of James R. Parliament, MD, in Richmond. “I’ve been doing this for 34 years, but I always pick up something at this session that we might have missed in a newsletter or bulletin. And if we have an issue today, I can talk in person to a representative.”

Felicia Frederick with Anesthesia Pain Consultants of Indiana said, “I like this forum because you can get a lot of information, hear about other issues within other offices and get an answer to your problem.”

The ISMA offers the Commercial Payer Forum in June of each year; mark your 2016 calendar so you don’t miss the networking and in-person meetings with payer representatives next year. The exact date will be announced early in 2016; watch ISMA Reports for details.
