According to the recently released American Fitness Index (AFI), the Indianapolis-Carmel-Anderson region ranked 50th out of 50 U.S. metropolitan areas with the largest populations.

Central Indiana was ranked low for its high rates of chronic diseases, lack of regular exercise and expenditures on parks. However, the same area exceled in accessibility to farmer’s markets.
