Seeing HIP 2.0 patients?

Here’s a tip on billing HIP members for cost sharing Untitled document

When seeing HIP Basic members with cost-sharing responsibilities, medical offices are required to charge the appropriate co-payments to HIP Basic members on the date of service after services are rendered.

If co-payments cannot be collected on the date of service, physicians and other health care providers may bill a HIP member as they would any other patient. In addition, medical offices that follow their normal collection processes and fail to collect from HIP members may turn the member over for collections – if they have followed the same billing procedures they would follow for any other patient.
