Rep. Tim Brown, M.D., R-Crawfordsville, was selected by a panel of judges to receive the AMA’s prestigious Dr. Nathan Davis Award at a ceremony Feb. 24 in Washington, D.C. Rep. Brown will be the recipient in the category Outstanding Member of a State Legislature.
Generally, more than 500 health sector representatives, as well as members of Congress and administration officials, attend the award banquet each year.
A family medicine physician, Rep. Brown has been an ISMA member since 1985. He was first elected to the Indiana General Assembly in 1994 and currently chairs the Ways and Means Committee, making him the only physician in the nation writing a state budget.
