You may not know how to bring it up. Perhaps you need a way to screen and advise quickly and effectively. Maybe your patients are afraid of being stigmatized, and you’re at a loss to help them overcome that feeling.

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) has a new toolkit to help you with those issues – and more. It includes a screening test for alcohol, tobacco, illicit drug and prescription abuse. A poster and postcard-sized handout for your waiting room are also in the toolkit.

To order, call (877) NIDA-NIH or visit the drug abuse website and click on the NIDAMED icon.
