New data from the Indiana Department of Insurance indicate that payments from the Patient's Compensation Fund (PCF) increased from last year.

The January payout from the PCF was $48,135,087.94, and the total number of claims paid was 75. That leaves a total balance of $60,094,552.24 – a decrease from October 2014 of 39.3 percent.

As a result of legislation last year, the IDOI will issue four PCF payouts annually. Read the full report from the IDOI here.
