An estimated 26 million Americans suffer from noise-induced hearing loss (NIHL), including at least 16 percent of teens. The ISMA, in response to Res. 14-16, adopted by the House of Delegates, offers a link to a fact sheet that can help you and your patients understand the causes of hearing loss and how to prevent it.

Developed by the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders, the resource also explains how noise can damage hearing, and the effects and signs of NIHL.
