Gov. Mike Pence signed the Trauma Registry Rule into law Oct. 25; it became effective Nov. 24. The new law requires EMS providers, hospital emergency departments and rehabilitation hospitals to report trauma cases to the state’s trauma registry.

Transport providers, however, must also submit data to Indiana Department of Homeland Security.

The Indiana State Department of Health Trauma and Injury Prevention Division scheduled statewide training sessions for those required to submit data.
