Indianapolis doctor named ISMA’s Team Physician of the Year

David A. Porter, M.D., received the ISMA Commission on Sports Medicine’s 16th Annual Team Physician of the Year Award during the Athletic Trainers Association banquet.

Dr. PorterDr. Porter is currently the orthopaedic foot and ankle consultant to the Indianapolis Colts and team physician for Mt. Vernon High School in Fortville. He also has assisted with the Indiana Pacer Rookie Camp, the U.S. Gymnastics Federation Junior Olympics and the Canadian-American Cycling Challenge.

“From diagnosis to the treatment, he gives every individual unsurpassed care and takes a great deal of time to educate his patients.”

A graduate of the IU School of Medicine, Dr. Porter completed his residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio.

The Team Physician of the Year Award is given to an ISMA member in good standing, with 20 years of experience as a physician for an Indiana high school or organized sports team.
