Your current physician license and controlled substance registration (CSR) will expire on Oct. 31, 2013. To increase efficiency, the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, (PLA) with approval of the Medical Licensing Board, extended the current renewal deadline from June 30 to Oct. 31, 2013 – as ISMA Reports previously advised.
The PLA noted on its website that renewal notices would start going out around Aug. 20. However, temporary medical permits for residents and fellows are not affected by this change and will continue to expire every year on June 30.
Note that this renewal cycle change is permanent, as a way to provide greater support to new graduates and physicians during the renewal cycle. If you have questions, call (317) 234-2060 or email them.
