When students return to school in the fall, they will need two valid doses of varicella vaccine or a health care provider’s documented history of chicken pox.

In January, the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) announced the new immunization requirements for all students in grades K-12 for the 2013-14 school year.

Additional vaccinations recommended but not required for the 2013-2014 school year include:

  • Two doses of hepatitis A vaccine for kindergarten students
  • Booster dose of meningococcal conjugate vaccine for 11th and 12th grade students

Find a complete list of all vaccines required for school entry based on age and grade here.
